My basketball life since age 13

Age 13 and 14(Eonju Middle School)

Until I went into middle school I didn't have any experience with basketball at all. Most of my friends started playing basketball, so I joined them. After several months, I gradually blended into the basketball crew. For a year and a half, I played basketball every day; sometimes we even missed lunch because basketball was so fun. By the time I had to leave Eonju Middle School to move to Chadwick International, I had become the type of person who shouldn't be missing; I have become the strongest center in Eonju Middle School. Thanks to my height and my jump, I was very talented at getting rebounds and passing. I have become a solid basketball player.

Age 15(G8 in Chadwick)

This was a big change in my basketball life. The fact that I played basketball with my friends during lunchtime and break time remained the same, but I got competitive in playing basketball. We played basketball jamborees with other international schools like SIS, SFS, and YISS. We practiced after school. We had games every Saturday during the season. It was a new experience because it was the first time basketball got out of the boundaries of just being fun. There were many troubles: a teammate who doesn't stay focused, a teammate who isn't serious, a teammate who doesn't pass, a teammate who doesn't run, and a teammate who blames everything on others. We confronted many challenges and eventually overcame them at the end of the season. We kept on winning teams that we couldn't win in the beginning of the season. It makes me wonder about if we had more time, would we have been better as a better team? That's when I started dreaming of my life in Junior Varsity basketball.
